And what if you didn't get beta? Can I sign up for CPP with RC-1 or am I
jsut screwed?

I'm thinking of fresh installing XP (that sounds like my only solution) in
order to avoid the Vista non-verification OS drop that will timebomb me in
about..9 days, because I did not initially sign up for beta, rather just dl'd
(stupidly!) build 5536.

What do you guys think?

This may have doubleposted.

What if we didn't get beta? It looks like I'll have a big mess in 9 days
because I only dl'ed Pre-RC-1build 5536 from the MS site. Apparently it's
too late for me to sign up with CCP and get a verification code.

Does this mean my only option is to fresh install XP? I can't "downgrade"
to anything from Vista. Is there anyway to sign up and get a code? (I am
willing to help with bugs + etc.)

Also what should I do to not have this problem when RC-1 is released?

Thank you everyone.

Well I can't say I have much sympathy for people in your situation
Many that had legitimate Cpp keys missed out on downloading build 5536
because of people without product keys overloading the server

However you could try this if it works it may give you a bit more use out of
it

1. Press WinKey + R to open the RUN box
2. Type or Paste this command into the run box:

rundll32 slc.dll,SLReArmWindows

3. Press OK or hit ENTER
4. After your next reboot, vista will give you 14 more days before requiring
you to activate again.

This has been known to work however I cannot give take any responsibility if
it doesn't
