I got Beta2, I found 5536, 5560??

I registered for Vista Beta 2 and received the download instructions and key
from Microsoft. I saw a link posted on resellerratings.com that Pre-RC1 was
available to the first 100,000 and I downloaded it and installed it with my
original Beta 2 key. Now I am reading about how RC-1 or build 5600 came out
yesterday for a limited group of testers. Well do I wait till I actually
get an email from Microsoft or is there some website or newsgroup I need to
monitor. I didn't get any email notice about Pre RC-1 (Build 5536) being
available so should I expect to actually get an email when I am eligble to
download RC-1? I did find a link where I can just order the RC-1 on DVD
from Microsoft for $9.95 + S&H. What's your opinion?

Be patient. You will be notified by email if you were one of the original
public beta testers.

However, often the link is posted before you get the email. So keep
checking - tentative release for RC-1 is Sep 7.
If you prefer to order the DVD rather than make it yourself, then that's
your decision.

The download was made available to the actual select group of Beta testers
first. Microsoft plans on RC1 being distributed to around 6 million people.
They will notify those enrolled in the CPP by email when the download is
available. They will also ship the DVD's to all that had previously paid
for the shipping. They will also open enrollment for those who did not
participate in the CPP for BETA 2.

So, yes, wait for the email, and then wait a few days for the servers to
calm down, and then download the files.

I Have a question:
I'm buy a DVD to Vista Beta 2. I will recieve te RC1 version or need a buy
again ?

You paid for shipping for both Beta 2 and RC1. You do not need to pay
anything more to get the RC1 dvd's. You will probably get an email in a
week or so to confirm that you will be receiving the RC1 dvd's.

Will it be limited to first 100,000 again though?
If people wait a few days they may miss out.

Completely different program and distro plans. Just hang tight like has
been said. The RC1 is going to go to a lot of people.

The wait is worth it IMHO.

Oh I am not bothered by any wait. I will probably wait until my one comes
in the post.

If you read what I wrote, you will see that I wrote what Microsoft expected
the number to be, but they have not said there is a limit.
