Now carl, there's no need for any name calling in here.
In fact, if anyone needs to be called any "names" I'll be the one to do
it, ok?
And btw, you're nothing but a scumbag low life ignorant, illiterate,
linux loser troll!
Have a nice day carl!

Does it look this good?

Better. MS tried, and discarded, all sorts of eye candy crap like that
during the early development of Vista, on the grounds that it makes
productivity *worse*.

Linux coders can't design a decent user interface, that's for sure.

:)

I don't know if he is a new comer or not, maybe he is. I'd probably say
something like his "disclaimer" if I've just landed here and read so many
name callings around here.

What he actually said at the begining:
If you attack me for just posting this, then you are a troll[...]

I don't think he means anyone "replies" is a troll.

But that's just what I read :)

??????????????

Quite normal, it is the purpose of this combination ! (open a computer
window)

just to prevent this behaviour : cut nine of your ten fingers (any nine
fingers will work)

or

stop pressing the combination with your two little fingers
admire the pretty firework of pretty windows
and with the same two little fingers, press the combination ALT+F4
(you can use two different fingers - it will work too)
No reBoot needed

Boy, that's a whole lotta WOW!

Does it do anything that actually make one more productive? Doubt it.
Does it chew up more processing resources while giving you all that WOW?
Betcher bippie on it.

My favorite UI is Fluxbox on Linux. Simple good looking and very
productive. The main feature is that you can group windows by dragging the
on to eachother. Has to be tried to be understood.

And I said Vista looks good. Doesn't mean it works good. But I think the
new Explorer and Start Menu is a step in the right direction even though
it's not a change in direction.

This looks and works really good in my humble opinion:

I -think- Frank was making a joke. Any APCI compliant OS in conjunction with
APCI compliant hardware, should shut down if one holds the power button for
4-5 seconds. It's not a bug, it's a feature. For real.

OMG Lang, I think most of these poor linux souls left their sense of

Actually, it has lower hardware and system requirements than Aero does...

It STILL doesn't do anything harmful on my system. It opens many Explorer
windows at once - neither a bug nor a vulnerability. I am easily able to
close the entire group of windows and recover.

Geez Louise, you can do the same thing by clicking a shortcut to Explorer
with the mouse repeatedly. Does that mean that if I have a muscle spasm and
click an Explorer shortcut repeatedly that my arm is a security
vulnerability in Vista?

;-)

It is if said shortcut points to malware instead of Explorer ;)

Frank,

Yeah... some folks have no sense of humor. (And a lot of them hang out in
this ng... heh, heh, heh...) And to top that off, don't know some fairly
basic stuff about computers (not that - I - know it all... not by a long
shot!). And then call -you- a liar! LOL! Nothing to do but shake one's head
and move on...

Either way, you too can watch Windows Vista die in front of your eyes. To
make matters worse, the key combination is one of the most utilized
keyboard
shortcuts in Windows. Pressing the Windows key together with "E" will
start
Computer in Windows Vista. Keeping the two keys pressed will open a large
volume of Computer windows. Want to crush Windows Vista? Nothing could be
simpler. Just keep the two keys pressed for more than 20 - 30 seconds.
<snip>

And this doesn't effect XP or W2K? I just tried it on an XP seat and in 30
seconds, 69 Explorer windows opened. The system was non-responsive until I
closed the Explorer windows. I would guess this would eventually bring the
XP seat to its knees too. Don't have any seats running any flavor of nix to
see how they might respond to hundreds of copies of their file browser being
opened. No Macs, either. My guess would be that if one opens enough file
browsers, one can bring any OS to its knees. Then, true to form, I guess
this thread would devolve into "My OS can open more file browsers before it
becomes non-responsive than your OS can. Nyah, nyah, nyah!" LOL!

Lang

I just tried with XP and I lost count of Explorer Windows opened (a lot)
till the system stopped opening any new ones.

But the system is working fine and I don't see any abnormal or
non-responsive things. Since there are too many explore winodws, so I
simply logged off and logged back again - instantly.

Now I remember that this trick has been posted before and some of us have
tested it.

In any case, I personally don't see this is a big deal even XP or Vista
crashes. Again, speaking for myself.

http://news.softpedia.com/news/Perform-a-Windows-Vista-Suicide-Pressing-Just-2-Keys-59886.shtml

Windows Vista can be completely killed by pressing a simple combination of
just two keys. All you need to crush Microsoft's latest operating system and
put the much-applauded Wow at an end is two fingers. Thanks to odeeee for
this news.

This issue has been reported independently of Microsoft, and the Redmond
company has failed to issue any official comment at the time of this
article. The immediate question which comes to mind is if the problem is a
security vulnerability or a simple bug.

Either way, you too can watch Windows Vista die in front of your eyes. To
make matters worse, the key combination is one of the most utilized keyboard
shortcuts in Windows. Pressing the Windows key together with "E" will start
Computer in Windows Vista. Keeping the two keys pressed will open a large
volume of Computer windows. Want to crush Windows Vista? Nothing could be
simpler. Just keep the two keys pressed for more than 20 - 30 seconds.

The operating system will begin to behave aberrantly and will continue to
open Computer instances flooding the desktop. There is no way to restore
Vista to its normal self, outside of a reboot. With Computer windows
cascading on your desktop, you will soon find that Task Manager cannot be
accessed. The same is valid for additional processes. You will have to
restart the operating system in order to restore Vista.

"It took millions of dollars to make Windows Vista secure and stable. While
I am happy that Windows Vista is so much stable than Windows XP; there is a
bullet proof way to crash WindowsVista. A simple service which loops a
thousand times while sending Windows Key + E can be written within ten
minutes. Microsoft may have spent millions of dollars for security and
stability; it takes two fingers or a simple service to crash Windows Vista
down. No matter how bullet proof Windows Vista claims to be, two keys to
crash the operating system is a bullet proof approach as well," revealed the
author of the crash method on TechTicles.

In its present form, the bug seems to create nothing more than a Denial of
Service condition. It remains to be seen if it can be exploited remotely or
if it permits code execution. Still, I'd put my money on a bug, rather than
on a security vulnerability.

Seems to work in XP to as far as a crash goes, LOL.
