How do you remove the Windows XP Home and Build number display from the lower
right corner of the desktop?
It re-appeared on mine after a power failure caused my active desktop to fail.
Thanks,
Rusty

Try this:

1. Click Start - Run - type REGEDIT and press Enter key.
2. Expand To:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
3. In the right-side pane, look for an entry called "PaintDesktopVersion".
Double-click the entry and set the value to 0.

Restart your computer for changes to take effect.

Hope this help, Let us know!
