I had a PC with a user that accessed files on other computers. We set her up
as a user on these PCs. We had to replace her computer and set her up as a
user again, however misspelled her name in the process. We renamed it but
see that the original spelling is used in "Documents and Settings", as well
it seems that when trying to access files on the other computers, her
computer still tries to authenticate using the original spelling.
How can I fix this without recreating the profile again and copying all
files and settings?

You'll find it fastest and most reliable to create a new profile and
copy all files and settings.

This kind of thing happens all the time. Either the name is misspelled
or the user prefers a different name.
