Windows Updates on CD ??

Anyone know if MS make their Updates available on CD?
anyone who's ever had to reinstall XP - or later - and had to run the
full Update process And on a dial up connection - knows it can take
hours to bring the installation fully up to date. it'd be so time-
saving if you could ring up MS and request the current updates as at
present, on an an installer CD, then run the normal Windows Update to
catch up on any recent releases.
Alternatively - is there any other method of achieving the same
through any other means?
I was going to drop an email off to them - but working my way through
the web site to locate an email form.. I gave up! might give them a
ph'call sometime and ask. even to suggest it.

SP2 CD can be ordered online.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/sp2/cdorder/en_us/default.mspx

Get a friend who has a fast connection to download them for you -

Download individual updates from the Catalog and save to be installed later.
http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Home.aspx
Click Add button for each update you want to download. Once you have what you want, Click
the "Go To Download Basket" link. Type in or browse to the location where you want the
updates saved to and then Click the "Download Now" button.
Once downloaded, you can then burn them to CD.

For security and other patches released for a given month :

Replace ## with the two-digit year
Replace *** with the three character month abbreviation

Providing there are releases for that month, you will see the list of "critical"
"important" patches for that month
Check on the 2nd Tuesday of each month - later in the day.

When SP3 comes out, you'll effectively have all the updates since SP2,
included on the SP3 update CD, or the XP SP3 CD. You can slipstream SP3
onto your existing CD image.

This works for me http://wud.jcarle.com/ The downloads all come from
microsoft but the tool automates the download process. You can then burn
them to disc or copy to usb or flash drive. If you create this little batch
file you can automate the install process. Just open notepad. Paste what is
between the lines (not the lines themselves) and save the file then rename
as install.bat. copy this file into the same folder as the downloaded
hotfixes. The hotfixes can not be in subfolders though. run the .bat file
and it will automatically install all the hotfixes it finds in the same
folder as it resides. When finished reboot the computer.

---------------
CLS
@echo off
cmdow @ /hid
ECHO Installing All SP2 Hotfixes in this folder...
ECHO Please Wait...
for %%i in (*.exe) do start /wait %%i -u -f -o -z -q -m
ECHO Done.... Please restart your system.
