Windows Updates Not Working

Auto (critical) updates...OK ..notification is made ..
downloads and installs ...

Go to site .. Recommended Updates and drivers will not
download. Mark updates... tell system to download and
install ... It starts .... get liscensing agreement ...
accept it ... Download dialog box opens ... and
nothing ... it is like it hangs ... Never begins
Download ....

Jerry, Don't know it this is similar, but I had problems
downloading the newest collection of patches myself. It
downloads but the install hangs because update.exe starts
using 99% of the CPU utilization during the patch install.

It has happened on Win2k and WinXp Pro.

I ended up backing out the apparently installed patches
and reinstalling each one separately as individual
downloads.
