Jim

I have my pc set up to automatically receive Windows
updates from Microsoft. So far, I've been notified twice
that updates have been downloaded and would I like to
install. In both cases, I chose to install. Now I've
noticed two unusual directories that were created on the
root of my c drive with names like
44f56e3591a43dba22d65b8203

I am assuming these were put there by the automatic
download process, but do I still need these or can they
be deleted?

Thanks for any advice.

They are created during the installation of your hotfixes (specifically, the
hotfixes extract to those directories)

Assuming the hotfixes installed properly, those directories aren't needed
anymore (not sure why they didn't get removed after the hotfix
installation).

Thanks!
