Could someone please email me with an answer to my
problem:

When I use windows update lately, I click scan and the
upsdate never gets past 0% complete, where as in the past
it has always been 100% complete within a minute or two.
I am using XP Home and have used Norton continously and a
scan show no virus's. Any idea how get my update working
again?

We don't email individual's the answers. This defeats the purpose of the
newsgroup; this is why answers are posted here so that all can benefit.

If your Norton program also contains a firewall, the firewall settings can
block the operation of the auto-update. Also check your browser settings,
the security level can also block this from working.

Try deleting all of your cookies and temp internet files. Also try make sure
your system time and time zone are correct. If that doesn't fix it, click on
the online support link on the update page itself.

I had the same problem finally I enabled automatic updates through system
properties. It took right off, I put it back on manual and everything work
fine.
Good luck
