My parents just bought a new computer with XP Pro pre-installed. Is there a
way to transfer the windows update files from my computer over to their new
one without having them download for hours on our dialup connection?

Hi

No, you can't transfer the Updates. However they can be obtained on a CD:

"Order the Windows XP Service Pack 1a CD"
http://www.microsoft.com/WindowsXP/pro/downloads/servicepacks/sp1/ordercd.asp

"Order the Windows Security Update CD"
http://www.microsoft.com/security/protect/cd/order.asp

The Security/Critical Updates that aren't on the CD can be manually
downloaded via the 'Windows Update Catalog' link on the Windows Update page.
