Peter

hello,

I am trying to keep up with the updates for Windowsxp home
edition via the modem, this is proving very slow. I was
told that there is a site where all the updates can be
burned to CD. does anyone know of this site. I could do
this at the office and then take the CD home and update
the machine all at once.

Please help.

Hi

If you needed to do this with individual cummulative
updates as opposed to big sp releases I think the best
(that I've found so far) way to do this is to open the
windows update site on your home machine , let it search
for updates and then print the results.

Take the print-out to work with you and go to the windows
update site, don't scan for updates.

On the left you should see a link "windows update
catalog". (if you don't see it you simply need to click
on the "personalize windows update" link on the left to
make it visable.)

(NOTE: windows UPDATE catalog and windows catalog are
distinct)

When you are at the update catalog page choose your
operating system, click search, pick a catagory and you
should have a big list of updates. Pick out those that
match your print-out adding each one to the download
basket and away you go. Just burn the result to a CD

Seems a little tricky but it works.

Hope this helps
