Windows Update to Service Pack 2

I just reformatted my computer and wanted to upgrade to Service Pack2 but
keep getting this error message : Installation Failure

Error Code: 0x80004002
Try to install the update again, or request help from one of the following
resources.
Windows XP Update for Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) 2.0 and
WinHTTP 5.1 (KB842773).
Apparently to be able to update to service pack 2 i need this stuff that
aids effective updates.

Any help you can render will be greatly appreciated.

have you tried to go to windows page and tell it to check for any avaible
updates? If go to main microft download site go to the windows one and just
tell it to check updates it will spit out all updates avaible to your system
and theese are probbly on that list and just choose download those frist
then install and then try the sp2
