Windows update shield-How can I trigger it back?

I have MSUpdate setup to download then tell me when I have updates to
install. If I know I've got updates but the "gold shield" isn't showing up
how can I trigger it or where can I find it? The shield is on the "shutdown"
button when I go to shutdown but I want to see what's going to get installed
first, hence the reason for my settings. Brad
 
Open the Help and Support Center and see the article 'To change settings for
automatic updating'. You could also go to Windows Update on your own and see
what's available.
