Hi!
I posted this on May 7, but I spent nearly a half hour looking for
my post and any possible responses. I found none, so I herewith
re-post:

During the process of downloading Windows Updates, my system shut down
with an error message stating that it had done so to protect my system
and files.

ERROR MESSAGE: MXDISK.SYS PAGE FAULT IN NON-PAGE AREA

Whatever shall I do now?

MSDISK.SYS is not a windows component, so really has no business being
in the Non-Paged area. Best guess is that it belongs to some external
software that you have installed, such as Norton Internet Security.
Look for any thing of the sort that you have and disable it.

Also run a scan of up to date AntiVirus and AntiSpyware programs, in
case it has been put on the system by one of those (but I think it
unlikely that they would be in Non Paged)
