Windows Update page does not load in IE6

No matter how I try to access the Windows Update Page it is blank..
Refreshing doesn't do anything either..

I haven't installed or uninstalled anything recently, or at least before
this started to happen.. The last time I used the update page was a couple
weeks ago and had no problems with it loading..

Another problem I seem to be having is I can't download photos from my Web
Shots.. When clicking on the download button nothing happens..

Down at the bottom of the page where it shows the progress bar there is a
message that says "Shortcut to javascript:downloadPhoto" I've even tried to
open in a new window to no avail.

Any assistance with these two errors will be greatly appreciated.. Thank
you..

Maybe you should try to reset the IE security settings in "Internet
Option--Security--Internet", also please try to reset the default setting in
"Internet Option--Advance".

If still failed, please try to download the Microsoft Java VM to install in
your system.

Good luck!

Empty the TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES and the COOKIES folders. Also
delete all TEMP files. Restart your computer and retry.
If this does not help, try reinstalling the WU client software as
described here: "WINUP: Error Message: "Software Update Incomplete,
This Windows Update Software Did Not Update Successfully"

well basically the webpage needs javascript working to render any of the
page, so normally how you fix this is to go to start, run and "regsvr32
jscript.dll" tho with that extra little message about the photo thing
i'm not sure if that is the fix, give it a shot. also try disabling the
third party browser extensions in the advanced tab of internet options,
or if you have to download "windows script 5.6" and reinstall that..

not positive about that one but give it a shot i think you'll have some
sucess..

I already tried the reset options in my IE security settings, also the
default setting under Advanced..

Where would I find the down load page for the Microsoft Java VM? Or what
would be the search word I'd have to use?

Thanks for your help,

Thanks for the Support info.. I will try the suggestions from there if all
elce fails.. It seems like an awful lot to do just to get a blank web page
working..

I never got an error though saying my updates didn't install correctly or
what ever that wording was..

And where would I find this "windows script 5.6" to down load?

I did find and ran the "regsvr32
jscript.dll" by coping and pasting into the Start Run and hitting enter..
After it was done it said something about it is now working..

So a great big Thanks for that assistance, something worked any who, :)
