Windows Update Now Machine Fails to Boot!

My Windows XP Pro machine indicated that there were
updates available - so as per usual, I downloaded and
installed the updates. When prompted to restart the
machine - I did. Now it fails to start - it goes into a
continual loop of restarting and starts to load Windows
(I see the usual startup screen with the lovely little
blue indicator that rushes from left to right - usually
indicating that Windows is "trying" to start.) before
simply restarting all over again!

It will not start even in safe mode.

When inserting the Windows CD, trying to use the repair
feature, it asks for the adminstrator password - which I
thought I had left blank - even when entering without a
password - it indicates that it is not the correct
password - even after trying every known password that I
have ever used - no luck.

When I try to start using safe mode - it always stops at
system32\drivers\agp440.sys

Any suggestions?

Aloha,

If Windows does not start, try to restore operation of
Windows XP by using the Last Known Good configuration. To
do this, follow these steps:

* Start the computer, and then press the F8 key when
Windows begins to start. The Windows Advanced Options menu
appears.

* Use the ARROW keys to select Last Known Good
Configuration (your most recent settings that worked), and
then press ENTER.

* If a boot menu appears, use the ARROW keys to select
Microsoft Windows XP, and then press ENTER.
