Windows Update KB894391 not effective

I downloaded this update from the page that appeared after I reported the
related error (a "Generic Host Process" error message to be displayed after
you install security update MS05-012). I installed & rebooted, and the same
error message popped up again, bringing me back to the same online crash
analysis site.

WTF?

Are you referring to this MS article ?

IF yes, you may consider using XP's System Restore option to select a
Restore point prior to the date of "this hotfix". And if you did that, have
plenty of patience with the process --- to give it lots of time to complete.
And when it is done, logoff and restart Windows.

If this is a Windows Update issue:
have you posted to the Windows Update group microsoft.public.windowsupdate
?

Did you get an Error message & number while visiting Windows Update?

Use Notepad or Wordpad and open & look at the Windows Update log file
C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log or C:\WINNT\WindowsUpdate.log

Scroll down all the way for (today's ) the last session.

At this time, I can't find if you made any other post about this problem.
