While trying to perform the Windows Update on a new 2000 installation I had
to restart several times because the the downloads would not complete.
Finally I was able to get everything downloaded and installed. Now. when I
go to the install history page it shows multiple entriies for the same
update as having been successfully installed. I know this doesn't mean
anything but it is an irritant nonetheless...is there any way I can edit the
registry/log/page to only show one entry for each installed update?

thanks for any feedback.

Hi,

You can check this entry in registry

HKLM\software\microsoft\update

and there check for entries

Thank you for the suggestion, however, I wasn't able to locate anything that
looked at all like the entries I want to delete in this location. Is this
info encoded such that it is not editable by a human?

Have a look at \Program Files\WindowsUpdate\V4\iuhist.xml, That file
appears to contain the installation hidtory data. It can be edited with
Notepad or any other text editor, but you have to be careful to match the
XML tags correctly. Make a backup copy before changing anything.
