Windows Update is unable to connect to the proxy server

On random computers I get the following error message.

"Windows Update is unable to connect to the proxy server. For more
information see your system administrator."



It will not let me past this point. There is no proxy server. Some
computers are able to update while other are not. I can take the drive to
another location, (like home) and connect it and it updates.



This happens with computers that have either Windows XP SP1 or SP2



The local Area Network (LAN) settings, all boxes are unchecked.
