I'm using XP Home SP1. I accidentally deleted the Windows Update
shortcut found on my most frequently used programs list. I know how to find
that site, but I'd like to get that shortcut back and this time pin it to my
Start Menu.. Is there a simple way to do that?

Let me clarify my last post. I deleted the Windows Update icon that
was found on the All Programs list. Now it also doesn't appear on the most
frequently used programs list.

Many thanks for the tip. It worked. I should mention in case anyone
else tries this that your Start Menu must be set to the "Classic Start Menu"
in order to do this. If you're using the XP Start Menu you won't find the
add button.
