Windows Update hijacking Internet Explorer

Anyone have info on how Windows Update periodically hijacks Internet Explorer
upon opening. Instead of displaying my home page, Internet Explorer
immediately is redirected to some Microsoft page. Uusually it is the Web
version of the Windows Update service. But I already use Windows Update
through the system tray notification. How can we stop them from hijacking IE?
This time it was an advertisement page to try a new service called Microsoft
Update:

Oh. Sorry. Wallace just pointed out to me that there was a post here earlier
under Windows Update that tells us about this potential solution:

IE Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing > Automatically check for
IE updates (uncheck)
