Windows Update folder found on USB 2.0 drive?

P

Peter

Running Windows xp and found an 'Update' folder with 12.4 megs of files on
my USB 2.0 HD.. This seems odd since i have no other System Files nor an OS
on this drive(?) If i didn't 'direct' during my recent re-install to put
anything there, how did it wind-up on that drive?
I am afraid to just delete it since i can't find a possible duplicate of
this folder on my root drive..
Any help appreciated...Thanks

Hi,

The WindowsUpdate site creates a temp folder (usually WUTemp) wherever it
finds sufficient space on the system. This is not something under the users
control. You can safely delete the temp folder *if* you have finished
installing the update (and have rebooted if so indicated).
