Windows Update Failure

When I go to Windows Update and select any files and I
click Install, it says: Preparing to download

It continues this and never downloads anything from
windows update. I can download files from other websites.
Also, I can click cancel and the window will go away, so
the computer is not freezing, I assume. What can be done
to fix this?
