Windows Update Error

I am trying to get my windows updates and I keep getting
the message: Windows update has encountered an error and
cannot supply the requested page. I get the error
message Ox800A138F.

I went into Knowledge Base to see if I could solve the
problem, but I have not had any success.

I don't know if this is related but other things have
occurred this week such as: I can not connect to some of
the websites I have in my favorites folder and I can not
send any outgoing emails via outlook express.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

0x800A138F is a generic error, we need something more specific.

Open Windows Explorer to C:\Windows and locate the windowsupdate.log scroll
to the bottom and look at the last error codes. Post back with that they
are.

For the Update error - check your date & time are
correct.If they are try this site -

I don't think this error has anything to do with your
other problems. If the websites are Google / Yahoo / IE
etc you may have the trojan Qhost. This site will give
