Windows Update does not recognise the OS as XP

After keeping up to date with Windows Update and auto-
update for the past 18months, just recently the Windows
Update site does not recognise my OS as Windows and just
says "thanks for visiting.... etc.".

Any ideas as to why this should be occuring now and more
importantly how I can resolve it.
