windows up-date

I was attempting to clean & protect my pc from the latest
worm pgm. I followed the instructions. In the middle of
the install, the process stopped and displayed this
message:
"Setup could not verify the integrity of the file
Update.inf. Make sure the Cryptographic Service is
running on this computer."

I don't have a cule about what this means.

Can anyone help?

Rename the folder windows\system32\catroot2 and reboot. That will
generate a new, clean folder, and you can then delete the renamed one.

Then get the patch, which should now be OK, then the update Q817287
and install it, which is the cure for the problem
