Windows too big on Advanced tabs

An irritation - when I go to Properties - Settings - Advanced tabs, the
window sizes are all too tall, so that to see the <OK> <CANCEL> buttons at
the bottom of the window I have to fiddle with hiding the taskbar, dragging
the window as high off the top of the screen as it will go. And even then I
can only just see the top of the buttons.

Plain silly - is there any magic method for resizing these windows?
Yes, I have fiddled with screen size and position on the Display tab, and
the monitor size controls, but still can't improve it.
(W98SE, Cat 3.1, 9000 PRO AIW, Sony 200GS)

Thanks for any suggestions,
Laurence

I'm having exact same problem, I hope you find a solution.

It's a "Catch 22" situation if you try to resize, you get stuck in the
window.

I'm not sure, but I don't think 98se is as smart as XP as auto-positioning
the windows. I remember having the problem in the past, but at resolutions
of 800x600 and above, Windows seems to figure it out and centre the window.
I can't recreate your problem in XP.

What res are you running?

I had exactly the same problem with Win XP 1024x768 and Cat 3.1 driver, The
window was just too tall. Installing the Cat 3.4 and now 3.5 has cured the
problem. hope this helps.

I'm actually baffled by the screen size controls on the monitor and Adapter
<Display>.
I had expected that the DISPLAY screen size would decide how big the desktop
was, and the monitor controls should set how big a 'monitor window' the
desktop is viewed through.
Good theory but it doesn't work that way - they both do the same thing!
Ideas?
2 heads are better than one - or is it misery loves company?

800x600 32bit - my eyesight is not up to 1024 x 768 on a 17" monitor.

That is your problem. Microsoft likely assumes that noone uses 800x600
anymore. (Have you tried setting it to 1024x768 and then increasing the font
size on the 'General' tab of the Advanced Display properties?)

The best I can offer is to tell you that the 'OK' button is the first one on
the bottom row of buttons, so that if you tab all the way to the bottom
control that you can see, then press Tab one more time, you'll be on the OK
button.
