I have recently done a clean install of windows xp. I have not yet
installed service pack 2. The only programs I have installed are MS
office 2000. I have installed my wireless lan card with the latest
drivers.

Everything was going fine, but suddenly a windows stop error occured.

Stop: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005,0F72EFE63,0xF7C11948,0x00000000)
netbt.sys - Address F72EFE base at F72CF000 DateStanp 3dbde304

I am a bit worried of it coming again. Can anyone help identify the
problem and have any suggestions of how to remove it?

Two out of the 4 links on Jim Eshelman's web page for the 8E topic are
broken, including the main (article) link. So not much help, really :-)

I've had a load of 8E stop errors recently - mostly playing high-resolution
games - and I'm pretty sure it's caused by the processor or video card
overheating.

It's always worthwhile sending the error report that Microsoft asks for -
you'll then see a page saying they don't know what the problem is (apart from
it being a hardware driver), but they're working on it. Perhaps if enough
people keep sending in 8E stop errors, MS will work a little bit harder to
find a definitive answer.
