windows still not running right

windows xp home edition

i just re-installed xp due to to much malware,ect...
well now when i click a button , lets say a yes button, it pauses 3 or 4
seconds before it will open the next page.
it use to go right then and right there.
is there still something wrong with my windows or is it just me?

If you restored files from a backup, the malware may have been on the backup
along with the good files. Have you run an up-to-date anti-spyware and
anti-viris?

This may help a little:
R-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click Advanced.
Click the Settings button under Performance.
Click the Visual Efdfects tab.
Click the Adjust for best performance button & click OK.
