Windows Startup - Locked out...

All of a sudden windows 2000 pro. now requires a password
for when I boot up my computer, however since I never
created one or made it require one, I don't know what it
is or what the problem is. I even tried booting up in
safe mode and that still won't work. Any info would be
greatly appreciated either on how to break-in to windows
to change the password or even why it did this to me.

Windows didn't "do this to you". EIther you or someone with access to your
computer "did this to you".

Did you try using a blank password (since you claim to have never
specified one)?

OK, whatever the cause of this, there is a bootdisk out and about that
allows you to edit the passwords of accounts in SAM files. You can also edit
the registry, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.
