Windows Start up sound

I wanted to change the start up sound on Windows to a .wav file that is 31
seconds long. Every time I start windows it plays about th efirst 20 seconds
of it and then quits playing the sound. So I assume that Windows has a
default length for start up sounds. Is there a way I can change this if this
is the case? Or is there another reason the song keeps getting cut off? I
have checked the file and it will play to the end under Windows media player.

Thanks.

It is probably due to the length/kbps of the file. You can change the length
by: Open Sound Recorder and then click file and navigate to the file you
want to use and click Open. Now click File and then click Properties.
Towards the bottom, click the Convert now button and select the following:
BitRate - 18KBps
Stereo and Sample Rate at 8KHz
Audio Format MP3 and click OK
This will shrink the file to about 1/5 the size. It will still play and
sound the same
but the bitrate is a lot slower, thus should play for up to at least 60
seconds.
The sound file will still have the .wav extension. Good luck. :~)
