Windows Splash Screen, its stuck

Problem with my PC when rebooting, keeps getting stuck on the windows splash
screen, a few bars moive across and then it stops, . Have to repeat process
over and over again, trying safe mode, switch off at the plug and then it
decides to work, any thoughts on whats up, cheers Andy

Hardware problem. Start by making sure that your computer is plugged in
securely. Then, one at a time, check the rest of your hardware.

Tks for that, everything checked and runs ok, I normally leave the PC on
24hrs so its only the odd occassion when I have to re-boot.

All the bits inside and out checked and appear secure

any other thoughts

If you have two RAM sticks, try taking one out, boot and then swapping
them and boot again. Be sure to unplug the computer from the wall before
doing that. Also, check for dust and make sure the fans are running OK.
I had the same problem and it turned out that they computer wasn't
plugged in securely to the wall. Once I pushed in the plug to the back
of the computer, all is well.

You might also check to see that the boot partition is still C:, I had the
same problem once and the boot partition ended up as D:.
Windows got to the splash screen but never advanced to the login prompt,
