WINDOWS SP2 INSTALL MAKE WINDOWS UNABLE TO START

A

aaron61886

After installing Sp2 on a windows xp sp1 pc, the first
boot was fine, but the second boot made the computer
restart automatically while its was doing its startup
thing where the logo is displayed and this green line
moves from left to right.

i pressed F8 and i disabled the automatice restart after
a system failure and this is the gist of what came out:

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Stop: 0x0000000A (oxooBC83DE, 0x0000002, 0x00000000,
0x804F8C38)

There i hope anybody can help me

I am using a Compaq Presario R3000
AMD Athlon 64 1.8Ghz
512 MB RAM

as of now i removed the sp2 installation using the
command-line:
cd $ntservicepackuninstall$\spuninst
using the recovery console

and then i used system restore to restore the system to
what it was right before sp2 installation.

so i have two questions:

1) was my uninstallation correctly, safely and
efficiently done (that it wont affect speed, program
files, functionality of this stinking windows xp os, etc?)

2) how do i install windows xp sp2 update without having
to go through that hell again?

THANKS
pls reply to (e-mail address removed)

Hi Aaron,

1) Yes.

2) It's a driver issue. One or more of the drivers in use on the system are
not properly meshing with SP2. You may need to update some of them.
