Windows shutting down and restarting error

I've just installed Windows 2000 on my IBM thinkpad.
When I get onto the Internet, using Earthlink DSL, after
a minute or so I receive the following message:

c:\winnt\system32\lsass.exe terminated unexpectley with
status code 128 the system will now shut down and restart.

It also said it was initiated by NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM

You have been infected with a worm such as sasser. I bet you are not using a
firewall. Lesson learned? I recommend using a NAT router/firewall such as the cheap
units from Linksys or D-Link. If for some reason you can not do that, there are free
firewalls available such as Zone Alarm which I recommend to novice users.

You will need to install a antivirus program with updates current as of today to scan
the computer. The free Stinger tool from McAffee may also work. --- Steve
