windows shut down issue

Hi,

I'm using WinXP SP1.

When I try to shut down my system,

after showing "Shutting down windows..."
then it will showed, "Running startup script..."

Why it showed startup script ?
How and where can I get rid of that ?

How to shut down my PC ?

Please help.

Remove unused/uneeded background apps.
