Hello,

I'm a laptop support technician. Each user complaint about Windows start up
and shut down process takes nearly 10 minutes. I always remove start up
programs in msconfig and delete temporary files.

Laptops have all security patches and updated drivers.

Is there any method to improve start up and shut down process...?

When start up, It says Applying computer settings, preparing network
connections, running startup programs, What are they about.. any URL to
learn about it.. Please share details...

Are these computers in a domain? Check DNS settings for slow startup. Also
check for mapped network resources and/or network printers that no longer
exist.
