Windows SharePoint Services ????????

Guest

Yesterday I changed the name of my computer so I could network it on a
personal wireless network. Whether this is important or not I do not know.

I have been using FrontPage for two years and have several webs, all of
which are stored locally at C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\[web name], and at various
hosted places on the internet. I use Frontpage to upload when changes are
required.

Two issues - the first is I cannot create any new webs at this location.
When I try to create a web at http://localhost/[new web name] I am unable to
do, I get a message that says "The Web server at "http://localhost" does not
appear to have Windows Sharepoint Services Installed." What happened and how
can I solve it.

I can create, what I assume to be disk based webs, at what appears to be a
new location C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\My Documents\My Web
Sites\[new web name].

My second issue, and this must be related - When I open existing web sites
in FrontPage the ASP code no longer runs when I F12 the page. The web
site's location in Frontpage is C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\[web name]. The page
displays but ASP is not run.

If I access the same web site, using IE via http://[Machine Name/[web
name]/Default.asp all runs without any issue!!!!

Any help will be appreciated. I have uninstalled and reinstalled IIS, as
well as FrontPage2003. I am running XP professional.

You probably just answered your own question with the first line.
What happens when you log in with the old name??

The problem is that you can not change the name of the computer when you have installed the FP
extensions without re-installing.

Un-installing/Re-installing FP has nothing to do with the FP extensions. You have to open IIS MMC
and select the specific web...

When you uninstalled IIS, did you also un-install the FP extensions, and then re-install IIS and
then the FP extensions?

ASP must always be tested via http
