Hi!

Does windows sharepoint service is free for Windows Server 2003? I have
found that this service is good for file collaboration (as what I've read on
MS Website) that is why I want to evaluate this software. If this is free, I
need to know if I need to acquire other licenses other than my CALs. Btw, I
have WIndows 2000 AD with Windows Server 2003 member server. If I will be
deploying this service, I will use the W2K3 server as a host for this
service. Hoping for your responses.

regards,

MP

Hi MP,

Yes, Sharepoint Services is free, but Sharepoint Server is not free (FYI).

No additional CAL is needed. And yes, you will need a W2k3 server to host
Sharepoint Services

Hope this answers your question. :)
