Windows Service Pack 1

I have attempted to download windows service pack 1 twice
and after approximately an hour of downloading each time
an error message appears "Access is denied". Then, I
have to uninstall everything as advised by the prompts in
order to not make my system unstable.

I need assistance in installing the service pack. I
understand service pack 2 is now available and I would
like to be able to download that also.

Any assistance will be appreciated on how to proceed or a
hint to the problem. My computer is a Dell Pentium 4 -
2.53 GHz - 512 MB RAM. I have high speed connection for
internet and e-mail.

Do I need to install Service Pack 1 or any other updates before installing
Service Pack 2?
No, Service Pack 2 is cumulative and includes all prior Critical Updates.
There is also no need to uninstall any previous updates
