The Security Center is not recognizing my nortan
antivirus 2004. Can anyone tell me why it isnt
 
You need an update from Symantec so that norton AV will report it's status.

Open Norton Antivirus and run LiveUpdate, there should be at least one
update available for this. Once your computer restarts, the Security Center
should be happy as a clam.
