windows security alert : showing norton 360 off !!

config: intel T2400, 2gb ram, xp sp3, norton 360 V 3.0.0.134
now windows security is showing error that 'norton 360 antivirus and
firewall are off !'. i checked with norton support and they confirmed that
norton 360 firewall and antivirus are on and working fine.. so, somehow
windows security center is not detecting it.. how to fix it?>

This issue may be related to the Windows Management Instrumentation
being corrupt.
