windows screen opens in last position at previous close

Is there a setting to change that will have windows open
to the maximum view setting and in the center of the
screen no matter what position the last window closed was
in?
Thanks for assistance.
 
No general setting for this, but if you are launching the application from a shortcut you can right click on that shortcut, select Properties, and change the "Run:" option to "Maximized". The window opened from that shortcut will then always be maximized.
