Windows reports false disk space usage

I have a windows 2000 dc running SP3, that reports a false
disk usage on one of the volumes. When you click on the
volume is reports 50.9 GB as being used but when you go in
and total up all directories the actual space being used
is only 18.6 GB, no hidden directories or files. Any ideas
would be appreciated.
