When I start my laptop I get the following error:

STOP: C0000218 {Registry File Failure} The registry cannot load the
hive(file):
\SystemRoot\System32\Config\SECURITY or its log or alternate. It is
corrupt, absent, or nto writable.

Do I need to try to repair Windows XP?

Hi,

Seems your computer has a corrupted registry hive that is not alowing you to
boot to desktop.
