I purchased an HP a year and 2 months ago. When prompted by Microsoft Update
to enter 5x5 product key, it came back as invalid. I contacted HP and they
cannot help me because my computer is older than 1 year. So... I can't
upgrade Office, I can't update Windows and I am going crazy with tech support
who is giving me NO support at all. I have the valid key on the sticker on
my computer, but it doesn't seem to match the version on my computer. I
purchased my computer at Best Buy and there as well, I can't get support
because I did not purchase the additional warranty. Any idea what I can do?

Is MS Office asking for the Product Key?
If so do not use the key affixed to the computer, that is the windows key
and will not work with Office.
Find the package of Office/Works Suite CDs.
The correct Product Key is affixed to the package.
