Windows & Real player conks out computer

Ever since I've upgraded to AOL 9.0 SE with Mc Afee, every time I try to play
a dvd or rip a CD in Real Player 10 or Windows Media Player 10 or use
Intervideo WinDVD my computer crashes and reboots itself and so far nothing
in support or help covers this situation and the device manager says the
drives are working properly, also the drives sometimes cannot read the discs.
So somebody help me please !!!
