Hi,

My understanding is: You cannot play wmv file in all website by using
Windows Media Player. Am I right?

Based on your description, before we go further, please help me confirm the
following information:

1. When you play .wmv files locally, is there any problems?
2. Does the issue only occur on .wmv files? What about other format files?

Please open the WMP and go to tools at the top then options. From there the
Network tab at the top and make sure that were it says streaming protocols,
everything is checked except for the use ports option:
Multicast
UDP
TCP
HTTP

Next on that same Network tab, check the streaming proxy settings to make
sure that all 3 protocols are installed:
HTTP
MMS
RSTP

If the problem still occurs, please download and reinstall the Windows
Media Player 10 from the following link to test the issue again.

I also appreciate if you describe your symptom in detail.

Have a good day.

Best regards,
