Windows Protection Error

Hi,

When installing an app, e.g. proj2000, etc, sometimes i
get a Windows Protection Error. It will then ask for the
Windows XP cd but does not give me the option of browsing
the hdd to locate the i386 folder. For a single user, it
is ok to put in the disk, but for multiple users who does
not have access to the winxp cd, it can be a pain.

What seems to be the problem since not all machines have
encounter this error.

Appreciate any advice.

Hi,

Type the path here: Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Setup.

In the right pane, change the value of Source Path and ServicePackSourcePath
accordingly.
