Windows Picture Viewer

Hi, I call it W/picture viewer, but it maybe called something else; not
talking about the slide show viewing; it's the viewer that come up if you
click on a .jpeg file. In this viewer, the image can be enlarged, rotated,
and clicking an arrows allows viewing of all images in my pictures.

My question, can this viewer be configured to view different file types; in
this instance .psp (Paint Shop Pro) images? I think a metaphor would be they
way Windows Media Player can be configured to play. Mp3, Wav, wma, and so on.

I looked for a link to this viewer, but it seems to come up only if a .jpeg
and other standard image files are click. No link to open the viewer with a
options tool....

Thanks

Right click on a picture of the type you wish to open. Go to 'Open With', if
Windows picture viewer is not on the list selectr browse and navigate to the
programme. Tick the box 'always open with this programme' and select OK

Thanks HenryF

Did as you said, but the viewer does not recognize the file type I am trying
to open? I guess it just can't read Paint Shop Pro Images, now a Corel
product; use to be a Jasc product.

You'll need to open PSP and save or export the photos in another format
that can be interpreted by WPV.

Thank you people for your help. I do have PSP, but was hoping for the
convience of using windows picture viewer. I guess the only solution will
come from Microsoft, if they choose to support this file type.

Kevin,

:

IrfanView is free and will both open and batch convert from .PSP file types.
It starts up much faster than Paintshop Pro, too.

PSP takes 2 seconds on my machine. Irfanview - 1. Pffft.

Fair enough.

Last PSP I tried was v8; it seemed Jasc/Corel were heading down the road to
bloatware with that version, and it took much longer than you found to open,
so I just went back to v7 as it did everything I needed.
