Can anyone help me to stop my messenger/hotmail account
being linked to my xp pro username and password login. I
don't want messenger opening but have been unable to
cancel it. Thanks.

It would be best to not post the same question every few
minutes. Wait a reasonable period, like a day and a half
and then post in the same thread, rather than starting a new
chain.

Click Start | Run | "Control Userpasswords2" | Advanced | Manage Passwords
Delete your username (.NET association) from the list.
